A complete list of Salesforce metadata SimpleT can translate, which types need a translation file, and the Custom Label workaround for the rest.
SimpleT covers the Salesforce text most teams actually need translated. Every component Salesforce exposes is listed below, whether or not SimpleT reaches it, so you can see the full picture in one place. Component names follow Salesforce’s own wording, which differs from the labels in SimpleT in a few cases.
The Three Parts of SimpleT
These are the names you will see in SimpleT, and two of them head the columns in every table below.
Metadata Translator: You connect SimpleT to your Salesforce org once. SimpleT finds the text itself, translates it, and saves it back. Nothing to download or upload. Start here
Metadata File Translator: For text Salesforce will not hand over directly. You download a translation file from Salesforce, translate it in SimpleT, then upload it back. Export in XLIFF format (.xlf) — SimpleT does not read the .stf format.
Experience Cloud Translation: Used only for Experience Cloud site pages and CMS text
The Salesforce Documentation column links to Salesforce’s own reference for that component, so you can verify every row yourself. The Other Way to Translate column shows how the same text can be translated without SimpleT, and where it reads Not possible, the linked Salesforce reference does not list that component as translatable.
